Because God is a Spirit and man was made in His image (Genesis 1:27), we are threefold spiritual beings: body, soul and spirit. As children of God, our spirit is connected with the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:16). In our daily walk, prayer and study of God’s word, we are encouraged by the Holy Spirit to not fulfill the desires of the flesh. “I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
